UNITED STATES — National Vote Early Day has designated Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, as this year’s nationwide celebration of early voting ahead of the November midterm elections. The organization also announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Grassroots Grant Program to support local voting efforts.
The nonpartisan civic holiday aims to help eligible voters understand their early voting options and build confidence in casting ballots. By encouraging participation before Election Day, organizers seek to reduce barriers to voting in local, statewide, and federal elections.
Applications for the grant program are open through Aug. 31, 2026, with limited funding available. Community-based organizations, civic groups, libraries, campuses, and nonprofits planning nonpartisan voter engagement activities are eligible to apply online.
Selected recipients will receive direct financial support, along with promotional materials, planning tools, technical assistance, and communication resources to support their local outreach efforts.
Yadira Sánchez serves as executive director of both National Vote Early Day and Poder Latinx. She emphasized the role of community partners in conducting local voter outreach.
