HOLLY HILL, Fla. — A Volusia County police department is working to change the perception local teenagers have about police that may have been shaped by images of police brutality on social media.

The Holly Hill police chief said his department is trying to change perception through its 5-0 Club, which the department adopted from Ormond Beach.

Officers go into middle and high schools and bring in guest speakers to meet with students and have what the chief said are honest conversations about life goals, peer pressure and their perception of police.
