OCPS narrows search for superintendent to 2 finalists

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County Public Schools has narrowed its superintendent search to two finalists.

The finalists, Maria Vazquez and Peter Licata, will be interviewed by the school board on Tuesday.

Vazquez is currently the deputy superintendent in Orange County. Licata is the regional superintendent in Palm Beach County.

The school board is scheduled to select the new superintendent at the next meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday, June 28.

The current superintendent, Barbara Jenkins, announced her retirement after a decade in the role.
