OIA installs new vending machines filled with PPE ahead of busy travel weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando International Airport and TSA are gearing up for more passengers this holiday weekend as Florida sees an increase in COVID-19 cases.

The airport has installed PPE vending machines in high-touch areas to make sure people have everything they need to stay safe and healthy. The vending machines will be selling disposable and reusable masks and hand sanitizer, as well as wipes.

In addition, airport monitors will prevent people from overcrowding, and operations personnel will remind travelers to keep their masks on as per the mayor’s directive.

PPE and wipes will also be sold at the few shops currently open in the airport.

Sunday marked the busiest day for the airport since the pandemic, with about 22,000 passengers, officials said.
