EATONVILLE, Fla. — A massive data center near I-4 and Lee Road in Orange County could open as early as October, if it passes final inspection.
HostDime CEO Manny Vivar tells Channel 9 that construction is moving forward after repeated delays and missed deadlines.
“We still had to start the design phase, all the soft calls, architecture, and mechanical,” said Vivar. “That took probably a few years to get to even a plan ready.”
The 120,000 square-foot data center was originally scheduled to open in 2020. Developers promised Eatonville town council members the facility would bring jobs and much-needed infrastructure to the area.
But town council members became frustrated when HostDime missed a June 2025 completion deadline. The council fined HostDime $250 a day, which accrued to almost $100,000.
Vivar said the delays were caused by several factors, including the pandemic and the demolition of the nearby Hungerford School site in Eatonville. But he maintains that the project is moving forward.
“We hope that the final inspections at the end of this month are on time, as scheduled,” he said.
