Orange County Sheriff’s Office warns the public about shooting guns to celebrate New Years Eve

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is urging people to not use firearms to celebrate New Year.

The department tweeted: “As New Year’s Eve approaches, we want to remind you that what goes up, must come down.”

According to Florida Statutes, shooting a gun in public could be a misdemeanor of the first degree.

They ask that if you see someone fire a gun into the air call 911.
