Operation bunkbed: Orange County deputies join together, deliver bunkbed for teens in need

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A squad of Orange County deputies gathered their tools and deployed on a mission inside a Forest City area-apartment complex.

When the deputies learned that two teenagers were going to sleep each night without a proper bed, the officers made a plan. Using their own money, they bought all the materials necessary to construct a bunkbed.

In the end, they left the teens with a brand new, hand-crafted bunk bed, complete with matching mattresses as well as some new games and school supplies.

“Today I found out there are good guys that come in all shapes, sizes, colors and forms—and the police are still our friends,” the teens’ mother said.
