Orange County gas station owner says he’s lost thousands due to skimmers inside pumps

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orange County gas station owner said he is out thousands of dollars after an engineer discovered skimmers inside his pumps.

  • Theses were not the typical card skimmers you can spot outside of the machines.
  • The owner of this gas station didn’t know his pumps were being skimmed – until they stopped working. A gas pump engineer determined that someone broke into the electronics and rewired them, eventually frying some of the electronic components.
  • The owner said state investigators told him he’s not alone in the Dixie Bell/Dover Shores area. Other skimmers have been found recently.
