ORLANDO, Fla. — A new interactive exhibit titled “Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits” opened Sept. 26 at the Orlando Science Center.
Presented by Nemours Children’s Health, the exhibit invites visitors of all ages to explore the science, psychology, and physical demands behind extreme sports.
The traveling exhibition was developed and produced by Science North in Sudbury, Ontario, in partnership with the Ontario Science Center. The experience is included with general admission and is free for Orlando Science Center members.
Members of the Orlando Science Center received an exclusive preview starting at 10 a.m. before public access opened at 12 p.m. Visitors can purchase tickets in advance on the science center’s website to avoid waiting in lines.
The exhibit features five dedicated zones where visitors can learn about extreme sports across different environments. Activities include climbing real rock walls, tackling a parkour course, walking across a high line to test balance, and navigating an off-road bike path.
Simulated options allow participants to pilot a wingsuit in a virtual flight experience or dash through a virtual race. The interactive displays also feature athlete stories from around the world that examine physical strength, focus, and perseverance while dispelling myths about extreme sports.
General admission to the exhibit includes access to the center’s four floors of hands-on science displays, live science demonstrations, and immersive films in the Dome by Dr. Phillips Charities.
The “Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits” exhibit will remain on display at the Orlando Science Center until Jan. 3, 2027.
