KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Help Now of Osceola and the Nicole Montalvo Foundation came together with the help of a local artist to create a mural honoring murder victim Nicole Montalvo.
Artist Jules Ross created the butterfly mural at Broadway Pizza Bar in Kissimmee.
The mural was unveiled on Saturday as part of events surrounding Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The large mural features butterfly shapes in purple hues, a purple domestic violence awareness ribbon and lyrics from the song, “The Fight Song.”
It also features an interactive QR code where visitors can find resources for domestic violence awareness.
You can also show your support by using the hashtag #istandtobefreefromdomesticviolence.
“I’m glad this project will give us an opportunity to add art to the community in a way that honors victims and survivors of domestic violence,” said Help Now’s Andie Hinman.
Nicole Montalvo was a victim of domestic violence in Oct. 2019.
Nicole’s estranged husband and his father were convicted of her murder.
