Police: Teenager seriously injured after being hit by car near Osceola County middle school

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A teenager was seriously injured after being hit by a car Thursday morning near an Osceola County middle school, police said.

Kissimmee police said the teenager suffered serious bodily injuries in the crash, which happened near Kissimmee Middle School. Officers said the driver hit the teen as he crossed Dyer Boulevard to catch a school bus.

Police have not released the name of the student or the driver. Officers are looking into whether the teenager was in the crosswalk at the time of the crash. Police said they are investigating whether the driver will face charges.
