Suspects in stolen SUV cause fatal crash in Osceola County, deputies say

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened in Osceola County early Saturday morning.

The crash happened near the intersection of Marigold Avenue and Peabody Road in Kissimmee around 1:52 a.m.

Troopers said a Range Rover was traveling southbound on Marigold Avenue, fleeing from Polk County sheriff’s deputies.

Meanwhile, a Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Peabody Road when the Range Rover crashed into the Civic.

The driver of the Civic, a 27-year-old Kissimmee man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the crash, the people inside the Range Rover ran from the crash.

According to a news release, three of the occupants were apprehended by law enforcement.

FHP is still searching for a possible fourth occupant and is investigating who was the driver at the time of the collision.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, they are investigating a house party in Davenport that resulted in felons ramming a PCSO vehicle and then fleeing from law enforcement in a stolen SUV into Osceola County.

Deputies said the fleeing suspects ran through a four-way stop on Marigold Avenue and caused the fatal crash that FHP is investigating.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd will have a press conference regarding this incident at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
