LONGWOOD, Fla. — A driver was killed Thursday afternoon in a crash, the Longwood Police Department said.
The crash happened shortly after 3:15 p.m. on South U.S. Highway 17-92 near Kathryn Drive.

Police said a Nissan Altima was traveling south on South U.S. Highway 17-92 and a Kia Sedona was northbound when the driver tried to turn left, hitting the driver’s side of the Nissan.
The driver of the Nissan died at the crash scene, and six people in the Kia minivan were taken to hospitals to be treated.

Southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 17-92 are closed at Wildmere Avenue.
