Pine Hills mass shooting suspect Keith Moses set for court hearing Tuesday

Keith Moses heads back to court in Pine Hills shooting that killed mother, daughter and reporter.

ORLANDO, Fla. — The man accused of killing a 9-year-old girl, her mother and a television news reporter during a 2023 shooting spree in Orlando is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.

Keith Moses has a hearing set for 9 a.m. It will be his first court appearance since his defense team requested a delay in his trial last month.

The trial has now been postponed until at least early next year.

Moses is accused in a series of shootings in Orlando’s Pine Hills neighborhood in February 2023 that left three people dead and two others injured.

The victims included 9-year-old T’Yonna Major, her mother, Nathacha Augustin, and Spectrum News 13 reporter Dylan Lyons, who was covering the earlier shooting when he was killed.

Prosecutors have accused Moses of carrying out the shootings over the course of several hours.

His defense team is pursuing an intellectual disability claim. Attorneys have argued that establishing an intellectual disability could make Moses ineligible for the death penalty if he is convicted.

Tuesday’s hearing comes as the case moves toward what is expected to be a closely watched trial next year.
