Police: Man in Kissimmee shot, killed in fight over beer bottle

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Police said a fight outside a Kissimmee restaurant that led to a man being shot and killed started over the victim bringing a beer bottle outside.

The argument ended Sunday night with Juan Quiles getting shot in the chest and his girlfriend getting hit in the hand with the same bullet outside the El Cibuco restaurant on Fortune Road.

Condolences in Spanish continue to pour in on the girl’s Facebook page as she prepares for her boyfriend’s burial.

The suspect, Jayson Castillo-Caceres, needed a translator Friday as he appeared before a judge for the first time.

Police said they had been searching for him since Sunday, but he ended up coming to them Thursday night.

“A family member contacted one of our detectives and showed up here in the department with the person we were trying to get in contact with,” said Stacie Miller, of the Kissimmee Police Department.

Police said the victim’s family and friends are all in Puerto Rico, where Quiles was born and where he will be buried.

Police were able to obtain surveillance video from the restaurant but it doesn’t give a clear picture of the shooting, which was outside.
