Pizza delivery man shot during robbery at Orlando apartments

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Hungry Howie's Pizza employee was robbed and shot after a delivery at an Orlando apartment complex Friday night, police said.

Authorities responded to the Metro Place Apartments off of Kirkman Road shortly before 11 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. When officers arrived the victim was found laying in the parking lot of the complex.

Investigators said an armed man approached the pizza delivery driver and demanded his money. The victim was shot by the suspect during the confrontation, authorities said.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

The suspect kept his face covered during the robbery and fled on foot. Police have not released a description of the man.

This isn't the first shooting incident at the Metro Place Apartments. In March of 2012 a driver was shot in the parking lot during an attempted carjacking.
