DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A manhunt ended Tuesday for a 37-year-old man who fatally shot his 30-year-old girlfriend by mistake during a confrontation with her ex-boyfriend, the Daytona Beach Police Department said.

Police said they were called shortly before noon to a shooting on Glenview Boulevard near North Halifax Avenue.

Investigators said Karli Elliott had gotten into an argument with her ex-boyfriend at a nearby 7-Eleven shortly before the shooting.

They said she called her current boyfriend, Chad Keene, to tell him about what had happened, and Keene shot her, but he intended to shoot her ex-boyfriend.
