Port Canaveral business continues to grow with new cargo service agreement

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. — Blue Water Industries and Ambassador Services International announced an agreement to import thousands of tons of construction materials through Port Canaveral.

According to an announcement by the Port Authority, Blue Water will import between 400,000 to 800,000 metric tons of material into the port each year.

Once offloaded, the materials will be used in construction projects throughout Florida and the Southeastern United States.

Port Canaveral CEO John Murray said the new cargo shipments are a win for the Port and Ambassador.

“Our Port’s location and ASI’s operation expansion provided Blue Water with a winning opportunity to more efficiently move product from point of origin to point of use,” Murray said.

According to officials at Port Canaveral, 6 million tons of cargo pass through the port annually.

In addition to cargo, the port is home to 13 cruise ships, with nearly 5 million cruise passengers sailing to 50 destinations each year.
