OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida celebrates leaders in the Puerto Rican/Hispanic community by hosting ‘El Josco Awards Gala 2023.’

The awards highlight and honor individuals within the Hispanic community that are giving back to their communities through their areas of expertise.

Jorge Figueroa is the president of the chamber. He said education is important to improving lives

“After graduation I became a counselor for three different universities so I’ve seen the need not only for Hispanic students but for all students to be supported financially throughout their college career,” Figueroa said.

‘EL Josco’ honors individuals in the following categories:

  • Communications
  • Education
  • Health
  • Community Service
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Professional of the year
  • Small business of the year
  • Women-owned business of the year
  • Lifetime achievement

The gala will take place on May 20 at the Caribe Royale Orlando.
