Rainbow Alliance accepting scholarship applications for LGBTQ+ students

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Volusia-Flagler Rainbow Alliance has begun accepting scholarship applications for the 2022 school year.

These scholarships are available to LGBTQ+ students currently enrolled in college, trade school, or an educational internship.

“We hope to be able to reach a greater number of potential applicants by making the process not only easier but less intrusive,” said Rainbow Alliance Scholarship Chair Dr. Meg Young. “We have streamlined our application process; it is now completely online, and we have eliminated the requirement for the applicant to provide statements of financial need, such as a copy of a FAFSA,” Young said.

The deadline to apply is April 1, 2022. Decisions will be announced on May 1.

The scholarship grants will be up to $500.
