Regina Hill's second son also arrested in drug raid

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando City Commissioner Regina Hill still has not spoken publicly about the drugs and guns found inside the home she owns in Pine Hills.

Channel 9 broke the story Friday when sheriff's deputies raided the home on Baywood Avenue and later arrested the commissioner's son, Rakeem Hill.

Rakeem Hill, 27, along with four others, were arrested during the raid. Hill's son is facing several charges, including trafficking meth and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A second suspect arrested in the raid, Omari Nembhard, is also Hill's son. Both he and Rakeem Hill are being held in the Orange County Jail. The other suspects have bonded out of jail.

Channel 9 obtained court documents showing in 2006, Regina Hill filed a petition for paternity and child support, listing Omari Tajie Nembhard as her son.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said it has been conducting surveillance on the home for months following reports of illegal drug activity.

In a statement released by Regina Hill on Sunday, she claimed to have no idea about what was going on at the home she owns.

"The commissioner is both shocked and saddened by the events that occurred yesterday at the house she owns on Baywood Avenue. As this is news to her, she has no comments on the matter at this time. The commissioner asks that the media is respectful of her family, as she deals with matters that involve her son.  Although her son is an adult, like any mother or citizen, she is concerned."

Regina Hill has not been named a suspect in this drug case. She overcame her own a criminal history, which includes drug-related arrests dating back to 1989, to win the District 5 seat last year.
