Rockledge officer injured in early morning crash in Brevard County

COCOA, Fla. — A Rockledge police officer was injured in an early morning crash along a busy Brevard County roadway Monday.


The crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of SR-520 and U.S. 1 in Cocoa.

When emergency crews arrived on scene they found a Rockledge police cruiser and semi had been involved in a crash.

The westbound lanes of SR-520 were blocked while crews worked to free the officer from inside the car.

Officials have not said how serious the officer’s injuries were or exactly how the crash happened.
