ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orlando woman was arrested on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly throwing bleach on her roommate and later striking him with a cooking pot during a second confrontation.
The incident began around 1:40 a.m. at an apartment on South Parramore Avenue. According to deputies, the altercations occurred as a roommate, identified as 52-year-old Richard Damarick Mitchell, attempted to move out of the shared residence following a verbal argument.
Mitchell told deputies that he and 45-year-old Lashawanda Denise Boyce had been residing together as friends and were not in a romantic relationship. While Richard was gathering his belongings to leave the apartment, he alleged that Boyce threw bleach on him. He initially told deputies that he did not wish to press charges for that specific incident.
Approximately 20 minutes after the first response, Mitchell called authorities back to report that Boyce followed him to his new residence at 723 Quill Avenue. Mitchell told officers he asked her to return to her own apartment, which was a four-minute walk away, but she refused.
During the second encounter, Boyce allegedly located a pot and used it to smash five windows at the Quill Avenue house. The windows were valued at $200 each, totaling $1,000 in property damage.
Following the property damage, Boyce allegedly confronted Mitchell with the pot and struck him on the right side of his head. The blow resulted in a large knot and a small laceration. Mitchell informed deputies that Boyce then fled the scene on foot.
Deputies later located Boyce walking toward her apartment in a nearby parking lot shortly after the second call. Mitchell provided a verbal statement to deputies and decided to press charges following the escalation at the Quill Avenue address.
Boyce was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail on charges of aggravated battery and criminal mischief.
