Say Cheese: Palm Bay Officer all smiles in selfie with alligator

PALM BAY, Fla. — In a photo that could only be described as “Only in Florida” a Palm Bay officer got quite the selfie while responding to a call of an animal stuck in a storm drain.

“When you’re just trying to take a normal sewer selfie and you get photobombed…..(At least he smiled 😬),” the officer said in a post on the Palm Bay Police Facebook page.

Eventually a trapper was able to remove the gator and safely relocate the animal.

Police said the alligator most likely found his way into the sewer drain and got stuck.

Palm Bay police advise residents to never approach or feed alligators and to report nuisance alligators to Florida Fish and Wildlife at 866-FWC-Gator.
