Man fatally shot, another injured while watching TV in carport of Seminole County home

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Seminole County deputies said they are investigating a shooting that happened late Sunday at a home near Altamonte Springs.

Deputies said two men were shot while sitting on a porch on Teakwood Lane.

Kyle Cornelius Scott, 33, of Longwood, died at the scene. The other person, whose identity was kept private, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

“Four men were watching television in the carport area of the home when an unknown suspect fired multiple rounds from a handgun, striking the two victims,” a news release said. “Detectives are working to identify the suspect who is still outstanding.”

Detectives said they do not know what led up to the shooting, but they do not believe it was random.
