Man dies, 3 others injured after Brightline train strikes SUV in Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Fla. — A man died and three other people were injured Wednesday afternoon when a Brightline train struck an SUV that was on railroad tracks, the Melbourne Police Department said.

Police said the crash happened at about 2 p.m. at South Harbor City Boulevard and W.H. Jackson Street.

The three people who were injured in the crash were taken to a hospital and are stable.

Police have not said if the railroad crossing arms were down at the time of the crash.

W.H. Jackson Street was closed in the area.
