Sheriff: Woman stabs dog 9 times because she was ‘angry at her husband’

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A woman is facing charges after allegedly stabbing her husband’s dog nine times in the back, killing it, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Sherry Ann White, 51, of Cocoa, is facing aggravated animal cruelty by “intentionally, excessively and repeatedly inflicting unnecessary pain and suffering to the family canine Jake, which caused him to suffer a cruel death,” according to the arrest affidavit.

White told deputies she stabbed Jake several times and killed him with her knife “because she had to and was sorry,” the affidavit states.

White said the dog did not fight back while she was stabbing him, and that after she stabbed him she went to bed, according to the affidavit.

White also told deputies she did not render medical aid to Jake or attempt to get him medical help after she stabbed him with a knife. She also provided deputies with the knife she used.

“I am disgusted by the actions of this individual who stabbed her husband’s innocent dog to death because she was angry at her husband,” Sheriff Wayne Ivey said in a Facebook post. “If you can do something like this to an animal you could do it to a human!!”
