‘Simply amazing’: Sanford residents leave out toilet paper, paper towels for mail carriers

SANFORD, Fla. — Who ever thought the simple gift of free toilet paper and paper towels could help renew your faith in humanity?

A Sanford mail carrier snapped a photo of bags full of toilet paper and paper towels placed on a doorstep and shared it with his wife, Jamie Serdari. In the photo, you can see a handwritten note with the bags.

“Please take what you need. Leave the bags so we can reuse!” it reads.

Serdari shared the photo with Channel 9, saying how much simple gestures of kindness like this mean to the essential workers continuing their jobs during the pandemic.

“The support that this community has for their government workers is simply amazing,” she said. “Knowing that these employees are out on the job all day, unable to run out to grab these essential items.”

Serdari said it’s lovely to see the community come together to support workers like her husband.

“It humbles me to know there are such generous people out these during this difficult time,” she said. “Thank you to whoever you are!"
