ORLANDO, Fla. — After a dry start to the day, rain and storms will make a return Friday afternoon across Central Florida.
The best chance for showers and thunderstorms will come between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., with inland communities favored for the highest coverage.
Some storms could be slow-moving, creating the potential for minor flooding in spots. Isolated areas could pick up 1 to 3 inches of rain, especially where storms repeatedly move over the same location.
Despite the rain chances, temperatures will remain hot. Highs will climb into the low 90s, while heat indices could reach the triple digits.
However, heat levels are expected to remain below Heat Advisory criteria.
The heat and humidity won’t be going anywhere after Friday.
Hot and muggy conditions are expected throughout the entire weekend, with daily opportunities for afternoon and evening showers and storms.
If you’re heading outdoors, plan around the afternoon storm window and stay weather-aware, especially if you’re in an area prone to flooding.
