Deputies: Boy, 15, who shot, killed 2 teens ‘wanted to kill someone’

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — Sumter County deputies said they have arrested a 15-year-old boy accused of fatally shooting two teens and leaving their bodies alongside a Wildwood road last month.

Chief Deputy Chris Haworth said Clarence “CJ” Patterson, 15, was arrested on Thursday while already in custody at the Juvenile Detention Center in Ocala.

He is accused of killing Isaiah Nelson, 17, of Wildwood, and Prestin Nixon, 16, last month. Deputies said their bodies were found on the side of County Road 219 south of County Road 44A.

“The only motivation for this senseless crime was that CJ Patterson did not like one of the victims and wanted to kill someone,” Haworth said.
