ORLANDO, Fla. — Taste of Thornton Park will return Thursday, Nov. 5, bringing food and drink samples from neighborhood businesses to a street party benefiting the Thornton Park Neighborhood Association.
The event runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., rain or shine, around the Four Rivers Fountain at East Washington Street and Hyer Avenue.
Advance tickets are available at ThorntonPark.org for $45. Admission is $55 at the gate and includes unlimited food and drink samples from participating businesses, according to organizers.
Food and drinks support neighborhood projects
Celebrating its 25th year, the fundraiser showcases area restaurants, bars and other businesses that donate their products and time. A DJ will provide music throughout the evening.
Participants will compete for awards in five categories: Best Savory, Best Sweet, Best Cocktail, Best Brew and Best Presentation/Display.
The event typically draws more than 400 attendees, organizers said.
Proceeds support fountain upkeep, quarterly neighborhood newsletters, holiday luminaries, a children’s Easter egg hunt and Welcome Wagon supplies. The event originally helped finance the fountain’s creation, according to the association.
The Thornton Park Main Street District will again sponsor the fundraiser.
The neighborhood association is a free, volunteer organization made up of residents who meet quarterly to discuss neighborhood issues, plan events and care for the fountain.
