VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Daytona Beach Police are investigating a car crash after a teenage boy was hit Friday afternoon.

Police said that the 17-year-old was on the sidewalk on a scooter, when he stepped into traffic and was struck.
He passed away at the hospital after being transported and assessed for serious injuries on Friday night according to law enforcement.
The incident is still under investigation.
