These 22 Orange County high schools will host COVID-19 vaccine clinics this week

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Twenty-two Orange County high schools will host COVID-19 vaccine clinics this week.

Vaccinations are available to children as young as 5 years old.

Orange County Public Schools is partnering with Health Hero Florida to host vaccine clinics Tuesday through Saturday at 22 high schools.

The walk-in events are open to all OCPS families and community members who need to get a vaccine or booster. Children ages five to 11 will receive the two-dose Pfizer vaccine, but all brands and boosters will also be available for others, organizers said.

Health leaders say Orange County’s overall population has essentially reached herd immunity, but they say kids under 12, who haven’t been eligible for the vaccine until now, are still testing positive.

“It hasn’t gone away yet. As we get into the winter, we’re going to see more cases,” said Dr. TIm Hendrix with AdventHealth CentraCare. “This time last year, we saw a seasonal increase just because it was fall.”

CentraCare hasn’t seen any major complications with kids getting vaccinated, and say parents should not waste any time getting them in.

Parents or guardians must accompany children and sign the Department of Health’s consent form.

Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Dr. Phillips High School, 6909 Turkey Lake Road, Orlando.

Windermere High School, 5523 Winter Garden Vineland Road, Windermere.

Horizon High School, 10393 Seidel Road, Winter Garden.

Oak Ridge High School, 700 West Oak Ridge Road, Orlando.

Thursday, Nov. 11 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Winter Park High School, 2100 Summerfield Drive, Winter Park.

East River High School, 650 East River Falcons Way, Orlando.

West Orange High School, 1625 South Beulah Road, Winter Garden.

Cypress Creek High School, 1101 Bear Crossing Drive, Orlando.
