VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County officials announced Tuesday the temporary closure of two boat ramps due to elevated water levels along the St. Johns River.

A third county boat ramp remains closed following an earlier shutdown.

The closures, managed by Volusia County’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Division, affect Highbanks Boat Ramp at 499 Highbanks Road in DeBary and Lake Ashby Boat Ramp at 1151 Commercial Ave. in New Smyrna Beach.

Additionally, Mariner’s Cove Park Boat Ramp at 1199 Enterprise-Osteen Road in Enterprise, which was closed on Oct. 9, remains closed.

High water levels along the St. Johns River led the division to restrict access to these locations. While the ramps are closed, residents and visitors can use other county-operated boat ramps throughout Volusia County. A complete directory of county boat ramp locations is available on the official county website.

Volusia County staff will reopen the boat ramps once water levels recede sufficiently to allow for safe use.
