Two people rescued after SUV crashes into pond

ORLANDO, Fla. — Police say two people were rescued after their SUV crashed into a retention pond early Wednesday.

According to the Orlando Police department, the pair were driving along Vineland Rd. near 35th St when their SUV left the roadway and fell into a retention pond.

Both people inside the SUV were able to get out of the vehicle before it sank.

One lane of Vineland Rd. was closed while members of the Orlando dive team assisted crews with removing the vehicle from the water.

Police say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
