2 shot near Apopka, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Sheriff’s investigators said two people showed up at hospitals early Tuesday after gunfire rang out in an Orange County neighborhood.

Deputies responded to the 1400 block of Clarcona Road around 11 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of gunshots in the area.

Detectives said that a short time later they located a woman with a gunshot wound at a nearby hospital.

WFTV has learned her injuries aren’t life-threatening.

Investigators reported that they tracked down a man who’d been shot, also at a hospital, who is expected to survive.

He’s being called a suspect in the shooting incident, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

It’s not clear if the shooting victim and the suspect are known to one another.

Detectives didn’t release a motive in the shooting or say how the man and woman both ended up with gunshot wounds.
