Daytona Beach Shores hires new city manager

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. — The city of Daytona Beach Shores announced this week that it has hired a new city manager.

Officials said Assistant City Manager and Finance Director Kurt Swartzlander was selected by the City Council on Tuesday as the next city manager, effective July 2022.

Swartzlander will succeed longtime City Manager Michael Booker, who has announced he will retire this summer after 22 years.

The city said Swartzlander came to Daytona Beach Shores four years ago as finance director and has also served as assistant city manager since last spring.
