Daytona Truck Meet won’t return to Daytona Beach, organizers say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Truck Meet won’t return to Daytona Beach next year, organizers said on Monday.

The news comes after complaints by residents and city leaders following the June 2021 event.

Organizers posted on social media that the change in venue is due to “circumstances out of our control.”

They said “nighttime unruly activities” have forced them to find a new location to hold the event.

This year, Daytona Beach city leaders have been working on ways to better control crowds after community members said pop-up events, like the truck meet, sparked fights and packed the roads.

The city’s mayor posted on Facebook after the 2021 truck meet that he’d received many complaints about it and wanted to be sure it did not happen again.
