Motorcyclist hit and killed by 2 drivers in hit and run crash, troopers say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit and run crash involving a motorcycle.

According to troopers, the crash occurred in Volusia County near the intersection of State Road 415 and New Smyrna Boulevard. The crash happened at 2:30 a.m., troopers said.

Troopers said a 42-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected into the travel lanes on SR-415.

According to troopers, after the rider was ejected two separate vehicles ran over the driver and left the scene.

One of the vehicles was described as a dark-color vehicle with front-end damage.

Troopers said that vehicle was also losing coolant and is probably disabled.

No description of the second vehicle was given by FHP.
