PORT ORANGE, Fla. — A 71-year-old woman who opened fire inside the Port Orange Police Department lobby on Thursday morning has died, police announced Friday.

The Port Orange Police Department said Friday that Linda Croteau, the woman involved in the Sept. 3 officer-involved shooting, has passed away.

The agency released video and audio from the incident “in the interest of transparency and to help dispel misinformation,” according to its statement.

Police supported the officers’ actions in what they described as a “dynamic and rapidly evolving situation” aimed at protecting the public and staff.
