ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida will enjoy another warm day Wednesday, with partly cloudy skies and afternoon temperatures climbing into the upper 80s.
However, a significant weather change is on the way, bringing increasing rain chances, strong winds and hazardous beach conditions heading into the weekend.
Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s across the region, with Orlando expected to top out near 89 degrees.
A few fast-moving showers will be possible throughout the day, moving quickly from east to west.
The same weather pattern is expected to continue Thursday, keeping Central Florida warm with partly cloudy skies and the chance for a few brief showers.
The weather pattern is expected to become more unsettled Friday as the next cold front approaches Central Florida.
Rain chances will increase as the front moves through the area, bringing a noticeable change from the warm, relatively quiet conditions earlier in the week.
Along with the increased rain chances, winds are expected to pick up significantly.
Gusts could reach 30 to 45 mph, creating potentially hazardous conditions across Central Florida.
The strengthening winds will also affect coastal conditions, leading to building seas and choppy surf along Florida’s Atlantic coast.
Dangerous rip currents are expected to be a concern for beachgoers, and coastal hazard advisories could be issued over the next several days as conditions deteriorate.
Beachgoers should use caution, pay attention to posted warnings and avoid entering the water when dangerous surf or rip currents are present.
