Warning issued after ‘erratic and dangerous’ Russian spy ship spotted near Florida, Carolinas, Navy says

The Coast Guard is using American ships to use “extreme caution” after a Russian spy ship was spotted in international waters off the Florida and Carolinas.

The ship is reportedly failing to use running running lights, even in low visibility, and is not responding to calls from commercial ships trying to coordinate safe passage.

According to our sister station WSOC, a Russian spy ship has been reported off the South Carolina coast “operating in an unsafe manner.”

The U.S. says it has been tracking increased Russian activity in international waters.
