Watch: Get a sneak peek on board SeaWorld Orlando’s new ‘Pipeline’ coaster

ORLANDO, Fla. — SeaWorld annual pass holders can ride the park’s newest roller coaster Friday, but Channel 9′s Q McCray got a sneak peek at what you can expect.

Pipeline: The Surf Coaster is a standing coaster meant to make you feel like you’re riding a surfboard.

You start the ride standing, but you don’t stay that way for long.

“You are standing in the beginning, then your seat moves up and down, fluctuating 4 inches up and down,” said Rob McNicholas, vice president of operations at SeaWorld Orlando.

Q said it truly feels like you’re catching a wave only 110 feet in the air and moving at a maximum speed of 60 mph. You can watch his real-time reaction to the ride in the video below:

The coaster is located at the front of the park between Flamecraft Bar and Bayside Stadium.

The ride opens to the general public on May 27.
