WATCH: Southwest flight headed to Florida turns around after cabin fills with smoke

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Southwest flight headed to Florida had to turn around when the cabin filled with smoke.

Cell phone video taken by a passenger on the flight Sunday morning from Havana to Ft. Lauderdale.

The airline said the problem started when one of the jet’s engines was hit by some birds shortly after takeoff.

The pilots quickly turned the jet around and returned to the airport in Havana.

Passengers used slides to evacuate the jet.

There are no reports of any injuries.
