TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida is set to execute William Frances Silvia Jr. on Tuesday for the 2006 shooting death of his estranged wife in Seminole County.
Silvia, 61, is scheduled to receive a lethal injection at 6 p.m. at Florida State Prison in Raiford. If carried out, he would become the 13th person executed in Florida this year.
Prosecutors said Silvia fatally shot Patricia Silvia at her mother’s Casselberry home in September 2006. Her mother, Betty Woodard, was also seriously wounded in the attack.
Silvia was convicted of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder and sentenced to death.
The scheduled execution comes as Florida continues a record-setting pace of executions. The state executed 19 people in 2025, the most in a single year in modern Florida history, and has already carried out 12 executions in 2026.
Silvia’s execution could still be delayed by court action.
