Woman dies after crashing SUV into tree stump, fence

CLERMONT, Fla. — A woman died after she crashed into a tree stump and a fence, the Florida Highway Patrol said.


Troopers said the crash happened just after midnight on Wednesday on County Road 561 and Cypress Cove Lane.

Troopers said the 32-year-old driver lost control of her SUV and ran off the roadway.

She hit a tree stump and a fence and her SUV overturned, troopers said.

FHP said the woman was thrown from the SUV and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
