WUCF’s original series “Florida Road Trip” will return in September with eight new episodes exploring communities, landmarks and history across the state.
The season premieres Thursday, Sept. 17, at 8 p.m. with an episode featuring Mount Dora.
Later episodes will travel to Clay County, the Florida Keys, Key West and Melbourne. The series will also explore Florida lighthouses and conclude with a two-part special examining Florida’s role in the nation’s founding.
“This series reminds us that every place has a story worth telling,” WUCF Executive Director Jennifer Cook said. “Florida Road Trip invites us to slow down, look closer and see Florida with fresh eyes.”
New episodes will air Thursdays at 8 p.m. on WUCF. Each episode will also be available to stream online for free the following day.

WUCF said the season continues its investment in local programming despite losing $2.5 million in annual public funding last year.
