Rescue dogs continue to search the rubble for live victims at the Surfside building collapse site

SURFSIDE, Fla. — Rescue dogs from Florida Task Force 3 on working overtime to help search for victims at the Surfside building collapse site.

This rescue dog’s name is Phorce. Phorce is part of four-dog team from Task Force 3 that was deployed to Surfside over the weekend to aid in the rescue effort.

Phorce’s job is to sniff the rubble pile in search of live victims at the Surfisde building collapse site.

There are roughly two dozen dogs in Surfside this week searching the rubble pile for live victims.

The dogs work in rotating shifts, with each dog working about ten minutes at a time, usually during a shift change or when equipment is being changed out and the site is quiet.

Phorce works with his handler, Driver Engineer Britney Bishop from Tampa Fire Rescue.

Task Force 3 is made up of members from Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, Tampa Fire Rescue, and St. Petersburg Fire Rescue.
