The star-studded 95th Academy Awards returned to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had hoped that this year’s Oscars ceremony could move past the controversy caused by Will Smith’s infamous slap of Chris Rock on stage in 2022.

This year’s telecast of the 95th Academy Awards featured Jimmy Kimmel as the show’s first solo host in five years, The Associated Press reported.

β€œNobody got hit when I hosted the show,” Kimmel, who hosted the show for the third time on Sunday, joked on Thursday on β€œGood Morning America.” β€œEverybody was well-behaved at my Oscars.”

Neither Rock, who recently addressed the slapping incident in a Netflix live-streaming special, nor Smith, who has been banned by the Academy of made his most forceful statement about the incident in a live special, nor Smith, who’s been banned by the academy for 10 years, are expected to attend.

β€œEverything Everywhere All at Once led the nominations with 11, followed by β€œAll Quiet on the Western Front” and β€œThe Banshees of Inisherin,” which had nine apiece.
