Actor Anthony Anderson’s wife files for divorce, 5 years after reconciliation

LOS ANGELES — Anthony Anderson’s high school sweetheart and wife of 22 years, Alvina Anderson, filed for divorce Friday in Los Angeles, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The couple wed in September 1999, and share two adult children: Nathan, 22, and Kyra, 26, People magazine reported.

According to court documents, Alvina Anderson cited “TBD” as the date of the couple’s separation and is asking the 51-year-old “black-ish” actor to pay both spousal support and attorneys fees, the entertainment news outlet reported.

The Blast was the first media outlet to report the split.

Alvina Anderson previously filed for divorce in September 2015, requesting primary custody of their two children, as well as spousal support, but she rescinded the petition in 2017, and the couple appeared to reconcile, Entertainment Tonight reported.

Although Alvina Anderson has requested that property acquired during the marriage be treated as “community” property to be split between the parties, the filing listed the following as separate property: “All gifts and inheritance, all assets, earnings, accumulations, and debts acquired by [Alvina] prior to the date of marriage and after the date of separation, the exact nature and extent of which are unknown,” the documents, obtained by both People and ET, stated.
